...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM HST THIS
EVENING FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...

At 743 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over east Oahu, with the
heaviest rain falling from Kaneohe to Hawaii Kai. Rain was falling
at a rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour. In addition, area creeks and
streams are running at elevated levels. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road
closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible
in steep terrain.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Honolulu, Waipio, Waiahole, Waikane, Kahaluu, Ahuimanu, Aiea,
Pearl City, Kaaawa, Halawa, Mililani, Moanalua, Punaluu, Salt
Lake, Kaneohe, Wahiawa, Kalihi, Wheeler Field, Hauula and Kaneohe
Marine Base.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even
if they are currently dry.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.
