Weekly Review: Winter is HERE – by Tyler Dunne

Greetings from the Boston/Colden area in Western New York, where our snow blower has already been clogged with snow twice.

‘Tis the season.

Good luck getting to the stadium early. It’s a total whiteout here.

By the time the Buffalo Bills host the San Francisco 49ers at Highmark Stadium, meteorologists say snow will no longer be a factor. But the wind chill will likely drop to 13 degrees. No matter how you look at it, the weather always plays a role in Orchard Park in December. The offense built in 2021 could have – probably – been possible should have done it – would have won a Super Bowl if not for those fateful 13 seconds. But GM Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott have made a concerted effort to revamp the unit in recent years.

They want a team that has the ability to break down defenses this time of year.

Expect a hefty dose of James Cook against a tired San Francisco squad.

There’s a good chance you’ll see a fair amount of Ray Davis too. We profiled the rookie on Friday. Your links of the week are below.

As a reminder, we have a Black Friday offer for you:

Thank you everyone.

It was a great pleasure getting to know each other through our emails and in the Gameday Chat running in Week 13:

Let’s get down to business.

How did Ray Davis’ life made for film impact the film industry? “When I run out there, I let people feel me. I let the moms know that it’s a long game. It’s a long, long game. I may be short and fat. Whatever you want to call me, you have to play against me for four straight quarters and at the end of the game I will earn your respect. You will give me my respect.”

Packed, two-hour episode covering the NFC North before Thanksgiving. Come for the Bob McGinn Michigan Football Experience and stay for old 49ers memories.

We turned 4 years old at Go Long. A quick thought:

Kyle Shanahan’s team hit a new low at Lambeau Field. Can the 49ers bounce back against another Super Bowl contender? We took a critical look at the modern Don Coryell.

I loved this Substack live chat with long-time NFL personnel man Jim Monos. As always, he offers a fresh perspective on all quarterbacks.
