“What if Akshay Kumar read his lines from a blackboard?” Nana Patekar defends his Welcome co-star and compares his tricks to Marlon Brando | Bollywood News

Nana Patekar and Akshay Kumar are among the most famous stars of the Indian film industry. While Nana is known for his naturalistic acting style, Akshay is known for his varied comedy and daredevil stunts. The two stars worked together in the popular “Welcome” series. The first film released in 2007 and the sequel in 2015. Nana recently shared his experience of working with Khiladi Kumar and defended his process of reading his lines from the board.

Nana, who is currently promoting his film Vanvaas, defended his Welcome co-star. In an interview with The Lallantop he said: “Everyone has their own style and preferences. For me I don’t look at the screen, for him he needs a board to read. But how can this become a problem? Ultimately, it is difficult to read and express feelings at the same time. That’s something I can’t do, and he’s a great actor.”

To support his statement, Nana cited the example of Hollywood veteran Marlon Brando. He said: “In the film Last Tango in Paris, Marlon Brando shot an intimate scene for which he couldn’t remember the lines. He wrote his lines on the back of his co-star and read them out loud. Today it is considered one of the best scenes of all time. They say, “What chemistry he had, the way he looked into his co-star’s eyes…” In reality, he was just reading. It’s about your own style and preferences.”

He had previously spoken to SCREEN about not being a part of the third film. He said, “I don’t belong, maybe they think hum bohot puraane ho gaye hai (I’ve been dated).”
