What is at stake for the Warriors in the Playoff classification

Like all 30 NBA teams, the Golden State Warriors play their last regular game of the season today. And everything comes on the wire when the thubs try to return to the playoffs. The Warriors who enter the day with the sixth seed currently have the same record as the Minnesota Timberwolves, since both teams are 48-33. They are exactly one game in front of the Memphis Grizzlies and exactly one game behind the Denver Nuggets and their current opponent, The La Clipper.

As you can imagine, there are a million different ways of shaking the overall ranking. However, none of these teams can reach the three best seeds, and the grizzlies are locked in eighth place, which means that the warriors, wolves, nuggets and clippers fight four to seven for places. Three of these teams will have guaranteed playoff spots, while the fourth appears to the play-in tournament.

While the overall ranking can end in many ways, it is remarkably simple for the warriors: win and you are there. Lose you and you are (probably) off. With a win against the Clipper today, the Warriors would guarantee a place in the playoffs. However, due to the complex tiebreaker with three teams, you cannot move higher than your current position as the sixth seed. With a win you will be included in the sixth seeds and have a dramatic showdown in the first round with LeBron James, Luka Dončić and the Los Angeles Lakers who won the third seed in the west. This series would start this weekend.

The Warriors could still end with the sixth seed when they lose, but only if the Timberwolves also lose. And in view of the fact that the wolves are at home, playing with a lot to organize a very bad and tanking Utah jazzt team, this seems to be quite unlikely. But it is at least one way, so it is worth keeping this game in mind, which, like the game of Warriors clipper, gives off at 12:30 p.m. PT.

Assuming that the wolves cope with the business, the warriors will slide in the seventh seeds with a loss of the clipper. In this scenario, the Warriors organized the grizzlies on Tuesday evening. If you win this game, you would be the seventh seed in the playoffs and have a matchup in the first round with the Houston Rockets. If you lose against the grizzlies, you would organize a second play-in game on Friday, against the winner of the game on Wednesday between the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks. With a victory in this game, the Warriors would become eighth seeds and, in the first round, face the Thunder of Oklahoma City. Your season would be over with a loss.

The Warriors are certainly in a decent place and essentially organize three games to achieve the playoffs and only have to win one of them. But it would certainly be nice if you could just beat LA today and not only secure your place early, but also give yourself almost a full calm week before the playoffs begin.
