What we know about Alabama basketball after eight games

Alabama basketball has played eight games of the 2024-25 season.

The Crimson Tide (6-2) started the season as the second-ranked team in the country, but have since fallen to No. 9 with a loss to No. 12 Purdue. UA looks set to see another drop in the polls after a surprising 83-80 loss to unbeaten and unranked Oregon in the first-ever Players Era Festival championship Saturday in Las Vegas.

For those just starting to get into basketball after being fixated on Alabama football all season, the early losses following a historic trip to the Final Four last season might be glaring. Remember, coach Nate Oats formulated one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country, so this team was tested more than many others.
