The last time Auburn beat Alabama was in 2019. That game, an instant classic, took place at Jordan-Hare Stadium with Gus Malzahn leading the Tigers and Nick Saban leading the Crimson Tide.

The Tigers, a 48-45 classic, defended their home opener against a strong Alabama team, thanks in large part to the play of the defense and special teams. Auburn returned two interceptions for touchdowns and scored four field goals in the win.

Auburn last beat Alabama in 2017, also on home turf, Jordan-Hare Stadium. And before that, the last time Auburn beat Alabama was in the infamous Kick-Six game, also at Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2013.

When was the last time Auburn beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa?

With their last three wins coming from their own homes, the question becomes: When was the last time Auburn defeated the Crimson Tide from Bryant-Denny Stadium? And you have to go back a little longer, back to the days of Cam Newton.

The last time Auburn beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa was in 2010. Cam Newton led the No. 2-ranked Tigers into unfriendly conditions, beating the No. 11-ranked Crimson Tide 28-27.

Newton threw three touchdowns and ran for another to account for all four touchdowns scored by the Auburn offense. Their defense struggled to contain Julio Jones on the outside, but brilliantly held off Alabama’s rushing attack led by Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson.

Since then, however, Auburn has lost six straight to the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.
