When will the College Football Playoff rankings be announced?

The college football viewing world is about to find out how much the College Football Playoff selection committee loves the SEC.

The best indicator heading into Tuesday night’s release of the penultimate rankings will be whether Miami, which suffered its second loss of the season over the weekend, trails one or all three three-loss SEC teams — Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina — all of which are Victories.

After a 42-38 loss to Syracuse that cost Miami a berth in the ACC title game, coach Mario Cristobal emphasized the nature of his team’s two losses – both by less than a touchdown – and said, “That makes us one of the better ones.” Teams in the country.”

He wasn’t the only one committed to creating the 12-team field, which is now eight teams larger than before. Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin took to social media, emptying the stat book and pointing to a barrage of numbers that he said favor the Rebels over the other SEC teams.

Alabama AD Greg Byrne made the Tide’s case.
