What is the plot of Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 12?

Consider this your warning Spoilers are coming soon about what happened in this second half of “Yellowstone,” so proceed accordingly. Tonight’s episode 12 is titled “Counting Coup” and the official synopsis reads: “Kayce makes a bold move. Rip enlists the help of a friend in Texas as the bunkhouse ponders their future. Jamie is trying to cover his tracks.”

As usual, there aren’t many details there. But as we found out in last week’s episode of “Three Fifty Three,” Kayce urged the coroner and police to reexamine his father’s body and upgrade the cause of death from “suicide” to “undetermined.” Police are now investigating John Dutton’s death as a murder.

Since Dutton (played by Kevin Costner before the star declined to return in the final “Yellowstone” episodes) was governor of Montana and head of the vast Yellowstone ranching empire, his death represents big news, especially for members of his family and his family everyone who works on the ranch.

Revelations that John Dutton’s death was a murder sent Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) into her own mini-panic. The lawyer for the mega-corporation Market Equities had secretly plotted with Jamie – with whom she was also having a torrid affair – to force John Dutton from power, put Jamie in the role of governor and revoke John Dutton’s orders to protect his country and block a lucrative development deal. Market Equities was very motivated to make this happen.

While there was a lot of sour debate about land conservation easements, eminent domain, tax liability, public-private partnerships, etc., Kayce, angry to learn that his father had been killed, showed up at Jamie’s office and shoved Jamie’s receptionist into the office (at first). , she hears Beth give Jamie a good slap in the face, and now – when is this employee going to request a transfer?), and Kayce then throws Jamie to the ground.

Jamie swore he wasn’t responsible for her father’s death, and Kayce stormed out. Shortly after the press conference announcing that John Dutton’s death is now being investigated as a murder, the former Lieutenant Governor/Acting Governor of the State Assembly announced that he was revoking John Dutton’s order to halt progress in the development of Market Equities.

Meanwhile, Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) arrived at the Yellowstone ranch to express his condolences to Beth and Kayce on their father’s death. Beth took a break from her temper and vowed to wreak havoc on Jamie, sadly admitting that the family’s only choice now is to sell part of the ranch or lose everything.

“There is no way to preserve this place,” Beth said. “This just prolongs the collapse.”

The episode ended with Sarah, who had arranged to kill John Dutton from a shady group, being unable to reach the man responsible. She and Jamie had a confrontation at Jamie’s house where he hit her, she hit him, and she stormed off and drove away.

Jamie immediately called Sarah to apologize for the slap, and while they were chatting, a seemingly harmless couple in a vehicle pulled up next to Sarah, ostensibly to ask for directions. Instead, the man shot a gun at Sarah, killing her. Jamie heard the murder on the phone and panicked to the max when he realized his number would be on Sarah’s phone at the time of her death. That’s pretty stressful, Jamie.

No wonder Jamie will try to cover his tracks. As for the camp staff, they are still in Texas, where they moved the herd to prevent the livestock from being exposed to disease. So it’s no wonder they’re thinking about their future!

Is Season 5, Part 2 the final episode of Yellowstone or will there be a Season 6?

While the series is making great strides, the off-screen news for “Yellowstone” was also quite dramatic, with the announcement that the series would end with the fifth season and that Costner would not be returning for the final episodes.

And there is still confusion about how to watch “Yellowstone.” The series airs on the Paramount Network, but viewers cannot watch it on the Paramount+ streaming service. That’s because the show initially streamed on Peacock, the NBCUniversal streaming service.

This agreement was a major headache for Paramount+, as Yellowstone became a huge hit. To capture some of the “Yellowstone” fanbase, Paramount+ became the home of several shows from “Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan, including the prequel series “1883” and “1923.”

A “Yellowstone” spinoff called “The Madison” has also been announced, which will star Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams and Matthew Fox. The series is about members of a New York family who move to the Madison River Valley in central Montana.

And while there have been reports that “Yellowstone” stars Reilly and Hauser were in talks about a possible sequel to the show, there has been no official announcement.

Where can I stream past episodes of “Yellowstone”? Is there a way to watch for free?

There is a way to watch some episodes of Yellowstone for free via streaming if you can watch the show quickly. As mentioned above, you can take advantage of a seven-day free trial of Philo as this streaming service now has every episode from Season 3 to Season 5, Part 1 available to stream on-demand. New episodes from Season 5, Part 2 will also be released every Sunday as they air on the streaming service.

If you want to start at the beginning, Peacock has seasons 1-5 of Yellowstone streaming on-demand. Peacock only costs $7.99 per month, but due to the series’ complicated streaming arrangement, the second half of Season 5’s episodes won’t be available on Peacock until after the season airs. However, if you need to watch the entire series again, you can do so for less than $8 and then have a whole month to burn through those episodes.

What is “Yellowstone” about?

“Yellowstone” focuses on the Dutton family, who own a vast ranching empire in Montana and fight for control of the land, sometimes with deadly consequences. Kevin Costner played John Dutton, the patriarch who questions his power and struggles with conflict between his adult children Beth (Kelly Reilly), Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Kayce (Luke Grimes).

What is Philo? Why is it cheaper than other TV streaming services?

As far as TV streaming services go, Philo remains the most cost-effective and affordable TV streaming service on the market. The company built its platform by focusing on a specific type of television viewer. Fans of Philo typically enjoy popular series, documentaries, reality TV, and movies, but aren’t as interested in things like live sports, premium channels, and expensive linear cable networks that drive the prices of other streaming platforms and cable service providers into the drive up. For the full list of channels Philo has and more information about the platform, check out our complete Philo streaming guide.

“Yellowstone” continues Sunday, December 1 at 8 p.m. on Paramount Network. Watch them Season 5 premiere, part 2, free on-demand streaming with Philo.
