How to use the Typhoon Blade in Fortnite

The Katana has some unique properties as it is not only great for dealing damage but also for navigating the map as it increases the player’s mobility.

As a weapon, you can use it to perform three different attacks.

  • Regular attack: A sword strike that deals 30 damage per hit
  • Falling punch: Used in the air. This allows you to perform a slam-down attack, dealing 70 damage to each enemy hit
  • Cyclone Slash: A grounded version of Falling Strike. You sit still for a few seconds before delivering a side slash that deals 90 damage and knocks away any nearby enemy

When you’re not in combat, you can still move around the map using the Typhoon Blade. When equipped, your sprint stamina lasts longer and you move faster.

In addition, it has two traversal abilities:

  • Wind jump: While sprinting, press Jump to activate a jump with increased height that negates falling damage
  • Gust of wind: Pressing Jump in mid-air activates this Wind jumpThis allows them to charge forward before falling to the ground again. It also negates fall damage

The weapon does have one limitation: it has a percentage counter that constantly decreases as you use the blade. Once it falls, the Typhoon Blade will automatically break and disappear from your inventory.
