There are many options for drinking tea in North Texas, paired with festive tea sandwiches, pastries and delicious sweet treats, with the added benefit of a festive backdrop full of flowers, lights, Christmas trees and garlands.

High tea can be served with a steep (Tea pun) price tag, so consider giving it as a gift for someone in your life who values ​​experiences over things.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

The Arboretum regularly hosts tea at its DeGolyer Mansion and puts together a special holiday edition each year. Start afternoon tea with chestnut soup, followed by a hearty sandwich like a lobster BLT and cranberry almond chicken salad. End the experience with scones and sweets. A tea reservation includes entry to the main garden and parking. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Arboretum’s 12 Days of Christmas Display.

Visitors to the French Room in the renovated downtown hotel will find something to take home the moment they sit down: packaged macarons. The teas come with both a savory course and a sweet course with a mix of scones and sweets like pecan cluster bars and espresso truffles. There’s also a free glass of champagne while visitors enjoy the over-the-top Christmas decorations. There’s no shortage of holiday activities at Adolphus: an après-ski-inspired rooftop winter village is open until January 5th. There will also be a candlelight concert by the Listeso String Quartet on December 21st and 22nd.

Hotel Crescent Court

The Nutcracker Christmas Tea at Hotel Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas begins with seasonally influenced tea party favorites: cranberry-stuffed turkey roulade, sugar plum smoked ham and pimento cheese sandwiches, and Christmas chicken pecan salad croissant, among others. Orange and cranberry sugar plum scones are paired with fa-la-la fruit cake. And those with a sweet tooth can delight in pepper Christmas tree macarons, sparkling tangerine fruit tarts, hot chocolate truffle pops, eggnog madeleines and winter wonderland white chocolate cheesecake. For an additional $40 per person, brave guests can add endless champagne. Tea is served in the hotel’s large hall.

Mirador

On select Saturdays through the end of the year, Mirador is offering a modern take on the celebratory high tea at luxury boutique Forty Five Ten in downtown Dallas. The elegant dining room offers a three-course tea that doesn’t include the roasted pumpkin and candied ginger scones with pumpkin butter and cream that are served to visitors. Luxurious savory bites include a caviar tart, wagyu sando and caviar tart, while maple truffles and pear linzer biscuits are some of the desserts that round out the meal. The kids’ option includes endless chicken bites, hot chocolate and a Mirador bear.

La Parisienne

In a dining room decorated over-the-top in a winter wonderland, you’ll find one of Frisco’s most popular year-round teas with a festive twist. The French-inspired La Parisienne’s menu includes sandwiches, holiday-themed pastries and tea. The restaurant recently announced plans to open a second location in Addison.

The Star in Frisco, 6740 Winning Dr., Suite 1000, Frisco. Adults are $59; Children ages 3 to 10 are $32.50. Tea reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance and require groups of two or more people. Twenty percent tip is automatically included.

The Ritz Carlton Dallas

Starting November 30, 2024, High Tea at the Ritz in Uptown Dallas brings a seasonal flair. Tea is served year-round at the luxury hotel, but during the holidays visitors can also enjoy appetizers like peppermint macarons, pecan tarts, gingerbread petit fours and turkey cranberry tea sandwiches.

2121 McKinney Ave., Dallas. Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. from November 30th to December 22nd. Adults pay $129; Children are $39. Reservations are possible by selecting “Experiences” on the OpenTable Fears page.

The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas

Visit Irving, another Ritz-Carlton take on the celebratory high tea. The event will take place at the property’s Juniper bar. Details of what’s included in the offer are not yet known, but the property has undergone a reinvention that includes the addition of a new restaurant.

4150 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving. December 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th from 12pm to 3pm: Adults are $95; Children ages 6 to 12 are $55; and children under 5 are admitted free. Reservations are possible.

Upside West Village

One of the cheapest holiday teas in the city can be found on the roof of the Canopy by Hilton Dallas Uptown. The drinks-and-food-with-a-view destination offers two menus. The first is a savory and sweet menu with mini beef wellingtons, roasted duck tarts, chocolate truffles and holiday sugar cookies paired with a gin-based Chandon spritz, available for $46 for two. A sweets-only option includes peppermint mini cheesecakes and bread pudding bites, including a Chandon Spritz, listed for $35 for two.

Although tea isn’t included in the price, the venue is also offering a special peppermint paddy martini for the holidays.

Communi-Tea Crawl & Fashion Night Out

It’s not necessarily a holiday tea, but a tea tasting is part of the Communi-Tea Crawl & Fashion Night Out, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Awareness Project resource center. Visitors can enjoy tea from a selection curated by Thrift for Good as well as other homewares and merchandise while shopping. There will also be a fashion show on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 6 p.m.
