Willem Dafoe and others grace the Berlin red carpet for “Nosferatu” debut

Hollywood stars Willem Dafoe, Emma Corrin and Nicholas Hoult were in Berlin on Monday for the world premiere of their horror film “Nosferatu”.

Fellow actors Bill Skarsgård (“It”) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Nocturnal Animals”) also graced the red carpet in front of the Zoo Palast cinema.

The vampire film by director Robert Eggers (“The Nordmann”, “The Witch”) is a remake of the legendary silent film classic “Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror” by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau from 1922. In Eggers’ dark reinterpretation the newly married couple Ellen Hutter ( Lily-Rose Depp) is the focus. She is haunted by the dead Count Orlok (Skarsgård), the vampire Nosferatu.

A passionate and at the same time fateful obsession develops between the young woman and the vampire from Transylvania, which brings an entire community to the brink of ruin. Hoult (“About a Boy,” “The Menu”) plays Ellen’s husband Thomas, with Corrin (“The Crown”) as her friend Anna Harding.
