Winter storm, rain and snow in AZ

Phoenix – rain and snow fall over Arizona while a winter storm comes in!

Parts of the Northwest Valley have already taken up over a tenth rain, and the chances of more are in the forecast until the middle of the week.

So far, no measurable rain has fallen in Phoenix, but it is still time to break these dry strips before setting up a new record.

From Sunday, January 26th, Phoenix had 157 days in a row without a measurable rain on the Sky Harbor, which marked the second longest dryer.

If no measurable rain falls at the port of Sky on Wednesday, Phoenix could combine the record of 160 dry days in a row in 1972. Then we can continue to set a new record strip every day until the rain finally arrives.

In the north, north, Winter weather advice are in force for parts of the highlands and in the northwest of Arizona by Tuesday afternoon. At times, moderate to strong snow showers are expected, which will lead to snow -covered roads and dangerous driving conditions. So prepare for delays and slowly take it on the streets up there.

We pursue the potential of five to eight inch snow in Flagstaff, two to five inches along the Mogollon rim from Heber to Pinetop and one to three inches in Prescott with this storm by Wednesday evening.

The winds will sometimes be airy, but the gusts mainly stay below 25 to 30 miles per hour in our state until the middle of the week.

The colder air, which moves in the temperatures to the upper 50s to low 60s, will fall the temperatures this week. Lows are also colder overnight, but we do not expect freezing points in the valley.

This storm will be cleared on Thursday, and high pressure will gradually be sent to the 1970s in the 1970s in the 1970s and possibly at the beginning of next week and possibly to the low 80s temperatures.
