Winter Weather Advisory: Severe weather will occur for South Shore and the rest of the region Sunday evening

WEATHER HISTORY: The promise of La Nina may finally be here. The long warm period of 2024 is coming to an end and cooler conditions will prevail from December. Snowfall is also likely. The UP has already made it to 18″. Another one on Sunday Note on winter weather has been moved to Gogebic, Iron and Vilas counties and runs until Monday at 6 p.m. Another ten centimeters could fall into the snow belt. An Alberta Clipper will again bring light snow showers to much of the region Sunday evening. The total snowfall there is expected to be only about half an inch. A few more clippers could cause storms in the coming week.

SUNDAY: Minnesota and much of Wisconsin will see scattered snow, but the snowbelt could become heavier due to the new winter weather advisory. Other zones should receive partial sunshine during the day. However, a clipper ensures light snowfall at night. The afternoon high will be 22. Winds will be northwest at 10-20 mph.

MONDAY: The storm will subside early in the morning and the day itself should become partly sunny again. Low is 15. High is 25. Wind is N at 10-20 mph.

TUESDAY: Another Alberta Clipper will blow through the city, increasing winds and dropping up to five centimeters of snow. Low is 10. High is 23. Wind will be SW 5-15 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Total snow from the clipper should be 1 to 3 inches across the region. When the clipper ship sets off, the wind increases sharply. After some more light snow falls, northwest winds of 15-25 mph are expected. The low is 15. The high is 28.

THE REST OF THE WEEK: When the clipper ship comes out here, expect temperature drops. Highs will fall into the teens. Low temperatures on Lake Superior will fall toward zero. Inland they could easily fall below zero.
