Winter Wonderland transforms New Jersey’s park into a vacation paradise

PARAMUS, NJ (PIX 11) – Bergen County’s popular winter wonderland is bringing holiday magic to Paramus, transforming a local park into a winter getaway for families and friends.

The annual event officially began Friday at Van Saun County Park.

Breanne Felice returned to a holiday that has become a holiday tradition for her family.

“We’ve been coming for about five, six years? And there is no place like it. It’s local. How to defeat it,” she said.

County Executive Jim Tedesco – the initiator of the annual event – has declared it North Jersey’s most popular destination for winter fun for the entire family.

“I had a vision to make the parks more accessible year-round, and so we started Winter Wonderland,” Tedesco said.

Now in its ninth year, the holiday spectacle continues to attract visitors with its dazzling lights and festive atmosphere.

“You could come here, spend a day for a lot less money than traveling far away and enjoy the beauty and offerings that are here,” Tedesco said.

Of course, no holiday celebration would be complete without Santa and his wife, with families posing for festive photos. Attendees also got to experience the thrills of ice bumper cars, a carousel, a beer and wine garden, and ice skating.

Bergen County Winter Wonderland runs through January 12th.
