WTA star reacts to eight game winner series after defeating Jessica Pegula in the Qatar Open

The open from 2025 in Qatar is well underway because several top stars fight in the Middle East.

The 30-year-old was refreshingly honest when she was asked if she believed that she would reach Semis when the draw was published last week.

“Probably not, I didn’t think about it, because when I saw the draw, I might not think that far, but I just play every single match and hope for the best,” said Alexandrova.

“I am really satisfied with the result and the way I am playing, so I want to keep it running as long as possible, no matter what happens.

“Overall, it was a great match for me and I hope that I can continue.”

Alexandrova will now play the winner of Kostyuk and Amanda Anisimova in halftime to reach the final of a WTA 1000 tournament for the first time.

A title for Alexandrova in Doha would see how her winning streak extends to ten games, which offers her the opportunity to surpass the keys at the Dubai WTA 1000 event next week.
