X Games names Colorado native as new CEO | News

Jeremy Bloom

Jeremy Bloom was named the new CEO of X Games on Thursday.

Heading into X Games Aspen 2025 and restructuring into the X Games League in 2026, the company has a new leader – one who is well-known in both winter action sports and University of Colorado football.

In a press release Thursday, X Games announced that Jeremy Bloom, former Olympic alpine skier, entrepreneur and All-American football player for the Buffs, will take on the role of CEO.

Bloom, a native of Loveland, Colorado, is a world champion in double mogul skiing, winning in Deer Valley in 2003. He represented the United States in Salt Lake City in 2002 and in Turin in 2006, where he finished sixth. Between 2002 and 2006 he won ten gold medals in the FIS World Cup and was overall winner in the moguls race in 2006.

At just 15 years old, he made the US Ski Team and was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in 2013.

Additionally, he was a freshman All-American at CU in 2002 and was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2006.

He also co-founded the business-to-business enterprise software company Integrate in 2010 and founded the non-profit organization Wish of a Lifetime in 2008.

According to the press release, X Games believes Bloom’s leadership will be helpful as “the organization will seek to strengthen the Games in areas such as athlete engagement, global expansion, fan experience and community reach.”

“We are pleased to welcome Jeremy to lead X Games,” said Jeff Moorad, partner at MSP Sports Capital and chairman of X Games, in the press release. “His commitment, sporting experience and proven track record in building and leading successful companies will be instrumental in further advancing our X Games locations and the X Games League.”

MSP acquired a majority stake in ESPN’s X Games in October 2022 and named former Twitch executive Steven Flisler as CEO. According to Flisler’s LinkedIn, he held this position until June 2023, after which he moved to managing director of X Games Media. Flisler appears to have left X Games in December 2023 and founded New Day Interactive, an entertainment and gaming consulting company, in January.

According to an X Games spokesperson, Moorad served as interim CEO between Flisler and Bloom.

According to the press release, Bloom, 42, currently lives in Boulder with his wife and two children.

“The opportunity to lead the X Games is more than just a professional milestone – it is a deeply personal honor,” Bloom said in the press release. “Going back to my roots in sports and especially action sports feels like coming home. The X Games is an iconic brand and I have great admiration and respect for our athletes, who are truly the best in the world.

“I look forward to working with the team to continue to grow the X Games and build the largest action sports leagues in the world by creating platforms that celebrate our athletes and inspire our fans around the world.”

X Games representatives declined to make Bloom available for an interview for this story.

The X Games announced the X Games League in June, which will make the competition a year-round, team-based format instead of the individual event in Aspen. The new format will debut in 2026.

The X Games returns to Aspen on January 23rd. For the first time, access to the event is only possible with paid tickets.
