You must see these amazing Idaho Christmas movies

It’s that time of year when Hallmark Christmas movies are everywhere. I know this because my wife loves Hallmark Christmas movies and when I get home from work there’s a 90% chance there’ll be one on. Over the weekend we relaxed (insert sarcastic) and I think I discovered one of the best Hallmark Christmas movies. Guess what? The film takes place in Idaho.

A predictable yet perfect plot

The film opens with your classic Hallmark setup: a big-city woman driven by her career lands in an Idaho town just as the holiday season begins. In the film, she meets a local minor league hockey player (because, you know, we love our hockey here in Idaho). Like most Hallmark movies, it’s attractive and grumpy but, you know, in a nice way (my wife’s explanation) and for some mysterious reason still single. Can you guess where this is going? Flirtatious arguments, festive activities and lots of snow lead to them falling in love just in time for Christmas.

Characters You’ve Seen Before (And Still Love)

The main actress swaps her high heels for hiking boots, while the ice hockey player eventually becomes inattentive. They’re the same characters you see in almost every Hallmark movie, but somehow that’s part of the fun.

Is it the best Christmas movie set in Idaho?

I’ll let you decide. Hallmark’s Christmas movie released last year, which you can watch on the Hallmark app, is called Checkin’ It Twice. There are two more Christmas movies you can add to the list that I discovered while writing this article: A Match Made At Christmas and A Godwink Christmas: Second Chance, First Love.
