Youngbloods’ “get together” singer was 83

Jesse Colin Young, the singer, songwriter and founding member of the Youngbloods, the group of the 1960s, which is best known for their top -10 hit “Get Togin”, has died. He was 83.

Young died on Sunday in his house in Aiken, South Carolina, his wife and manager Connie Young.

As the front man of the Youngbloods, Young produced the ideals of the Woodstock generation with the version of Chet Powers’ “Get Toges”. The song that demanded peace and brotherhood rose from her debut album in 1967 and reached 5th place on the Billboard Hot 100 two years later.

After the group was separated in 1972, Young Gule and published albums, who mixed socially conscious texts with outstanding guitar work and warm tenor vocals. He was also known for other melodies such as “Four in the morning”, “Sunlight”, “Darkness, Darkness”, “Quicksand” and “Peace Song”.
