A YouTube star crashed his $200,000 McLaren sports car during a livestream – and a clip of the incident went viral.

During a livestream on the Kick platform on Saturday morning, October 5, 20-year-old Jack Doherty filmed himself and a friend he called Michael as they drove down a Miami highway in his customized McLaren 570S Daily Mail.

A video of the incident — which has since been removed from Kick — shows Doherty looking at his phone while driving while it’s raining heavily, according to the outlet. He suddenly loses control of the car, which veers across several lanes of traffic and finally hits a metal barrier.

“My f—— car!” Doherty says in the video before calling out to his passenger: “Are you OK?”

That on

At the time of the crash, more than 185,000 people were watching the Doherty’s Kick stream Daily Mail and TMZ reported. In a YouTube video posted to his channel in June 2023, Doherty revealed that the McLaren cost $202,850 and he had since wrapped the car in a custom blue paint-splattered design.

The content creator’s Kick account was deleted following the incident and his page now displays an error message. The streaming platform’s community guidelines state that its users must “prioritize your safety and the safety of those around you by avoiding dangerous (behavior).”

“Prioritize safety for yourself, your audience, the public and everyone else involved,” the guidelines say. “If someone is in danger or needs assistance, turn your camera away and contact local emergency services immediately.”

In a statement to PEOPLE, Kick said it “does not tolerate illegal activity, which is why we took swift action and banned this YouTuber from the platform.”

Doherty did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

After Doherty’s video about the aftermath racked up more than 14 million views

“We live in a world where fame is pursued harder than compassion,” streamer dakotaz (real name Brett Hoffman) wrote in a post in response to the clip. “One kid who was more concerned with recording and texting didn’t even look at his friend in the passenger seat – his first thought was his car. This is the disease we are facing.”

“There’s blood spurting from your boyfriend’s face, but you make sure he’s filming from all angles…nice,” YouTuber Corinna Kopf wrote in another post.

Doherty has previously criticized similar incidents on his YouTube and Kick accounts. In November 2023, he posted a YouTube video that showed footage of him flipping a golf cart while his girlfriend sat in the passenger seat.
